1. About Cana
Cana is a digital service for reading and listening to the Bible, building a prayer practice, following the liturgical calendar, connecting with parish communities, and receiving responses from an AI spiritual guide. Available features may vary by language, region, Christian tradition, app version, and subscription tier.
2. Who may use Cana
You must be legally able to enter into an agreement under the laws of your country. If you are below the applicable age of digital consent, you may use Cana only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
3. Your account
The app creates a technical account associated with your installation and device. You are responsible for access to your device and for activity performed through your account. You may not impersonate another person, organisation, member of the clergy, or an official Cana representative.
4. Acceptable use
When using Cana, you must not:
- publish unlawful content, threats, harassment, hate speech, or sexual content involving minors;
- violate another person’s rights, including copyright, image rights, and privacy;
- send spam or malicious code, seek unauthorised access, or interfere with the service;
- automatically collect user data or use the service to train third-party models without written permission;
- present AI responses as professional medical, psychological, legal, or emergency assistance.
5. User and parish content
You retain your rights to messages, photos, voice recordings, and other content you submit. You grant Cana a limited right to store, process, transform, and transmit that content solely to operate the features you choose, such as delivering a message, displaying an image, or transcribing audio.
Content posted in parish spaces is visible to other members of the relevant room. Administrators and moderators may hide content or restrict access when necessary to protect the community and enforce these Terms.
6. AI spiritual guide
AI responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent with the position of a particular parish or diocese. The AI guide is not a human being, priest, doctor, therapist, or lawyer and does not replace them. In an emergency, contact local emergency services or a trusted person immediately.
7. Subscriptions and payments
Some features may be offered through a Cana Plus subscription. The price, billing period, trial period, and renewal terms are displayed before purchase in Google Play or another available payment interface. Subscription management, cancellation, and refunds are governed by the store or payment provider through which the purchase was made.
8. Intellectual property
The app, design, software, brand elements, original illustrations, and editorial materials are protected by law. Bible translations and other third-party materials may be subject to their respective rights holders’ terms.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Cana available and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, be temporarily unavailable, or be discontinued because of product development, legal requirements, security needs, or third-party services.
10. Suspension or termination
We may restrict or terminate access in response to a material breach of these Terms, a security threat, abuse of the service, or a legal requirement. Where reasonable and permitted, we will try to explain the reason.
11. Disclaimers and liability
Cana is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by applicable law. We do not guarantee that content or automated responses are suitable for a particular purpose. We do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for intent, gross negligence, or harm to life or health where such an exclusion is prohibited.
12. Leaving Cana
You may stop using Cana at any time and delete your account from the app settings. How data is handled after deletion is explained in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
If these Terms change materially, we will update the revision date and, where required, notify you in the app. Continued use after the changes take effect means that you accept the revised Terms unless applicable law requires separate consent.
